Trending In: The Philippines

Welcome to “Trending In”, our new content series designed to broaden your musical horizons and bring you the tracks from Believe artists around the world that are breaking the local charts.
In this first issue, we're off to the Philippines, where several tracks by Believe artists have been in the official top 10 for several weeks. Today, we bring you the 5 most popular.
And because we always like to tell you a little extra, we asked James Rodney (Mony) Romana, Head of Label & Artist Solutions at Believe Philippines, to tell us everything you need to know about each track in our selection.
Cup of Joe – Multo (Viva Records)
""Multo" is the lead single from alternative pop band Cup of Joe’s debut album Silakbo. It steadily rose in popularity through streaming platforms, boosted by widespread use in Instagram and TikTok video edits, making it one of the standout tracks in the current Filipino digital music scene” says James Rodney.
Cup of Joe are real hit-makers: besides their latest single “Multo”, which has been topping the charts for nine weeks, their tracks “Tingin” (2023) and “Misteryoso” (2024) are still in the chart as of June 2024. And if you ever needed another proof of their incredible success, they became the first band to simultaneously rank #1 on all Spotify PH flagship playlists back in April!
Earl Agustin – Tibok (Vicor Music)
Why do you think popular OPM artist Earl Augustin’s song “Tibok” is topping the charts two years after its release in 2023?
It’s very simple, as James Rodney explains; “It gained viral popularity as part of the Filipino teen series Ang Mutya Ng Section E. Debuting at No. 9 on the Philippines Hot 100 in March 2025, its heartfelt lyrics and infectious melody quickly resonated with listeners, propelling the love song to the chart’s No. 1 spot.”
And with “Tibok”, Earl Agustin also became the first Original Pilipino Music artist (an appellation intended to differentiate music composed by Filipinos in the Philippines from popular music derived from other countries) to feature in the Global Spotify Chart.
HELLMERRY - My Day (Young Gods Records)
Produced by Klumcee, a seasoned producer known for collaborations with hip-hop artists like Francis M and Gloc-9, “My Day” is the perfect example of HELLMERRY's dynamic style.
The young Filipino hip-hop artist, and co-founder of the Young Gods Records label, already had a big hit with “4:AM” back in 2023. But “HELLMERRY quickly established himself on the music scene with this viral hit” says James Rodney*. “It debuted at No. 57 on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 and climbed to No. 6 on the Top Philippine Songs chart, reflecting its growing popularity”. Social media played a key role in that adds James Rodney “The song’s success on platforms like TikTok has significantly boosted its streaming numbers”.
Ryouji – B4 I Let You Go (feat. CK YG) (Ghost Worldwide)
“Ryouji and CK YG rose to fame thanks to their emotional, melodic rap style that really resonates with today's young Filipinos. Blending heartfelt lyricism with R&B influences, their breakout hit “B4 I Let You Go” is amassing millions of streams and viral popularity, especially on short-form video platforms” says James Rodney.
Both members of the Ghost Worldwide label, the two rappers had already collaborated before this hit, notably on “Ghetto Gospel” (2022) or “RED BOYS” (2023), along with Realest Cram, OLG Zak, Young Blood Neet, other members of the same label. Ryouji and CK YG joined forces with K-LV for the single “That’s My Type” released at the end of May.
Amiel Sol - Sa Bawat Sandali (Ivory Music)
Amiel Sol has been around since 2020, but “Sa Bawat Sandali” is clearly his biggest so far. As James Rodney says “The song is a touching ballad exploring love, longing, and cherishing fleeting moments. Its soft melody and emotional lyrics highlight the fragility of time, resonating deeply with listeners. Garnering over 31 million streams, it became one of the Top 10 longest-running No. 1 hits on Spotify Philippines”.
The song has been staying for 17 consecutive weeks in the official Top 20 Philippines music chart, and climbed to #2 of the BillBoard Philippines chart. Thanks to the huge success of his single, Amiel is filling bigger and bigger venues, as his audience continues to grow.
